Starting from humble beginnings, we have been serving the community for over 100 years. We now cover a large portion of the South West from South Brent to Minehead, still visiting rounds started by David Jonas over 65 years ago.
The Jonas Story..

The business was started by Alan Jonas originally delivering in Ashburton and surrounding villages on horse and cart - frequenting the pubs on his way back from the town, relying on his horse to take him home after one too many!

Bill Jonas took the reins in 1930 and worked tirelessly throughout the war, even being bombed whilst on a round in Torquay in 1943.

At 18 years old Bill's son David was enlisted into National Service. At 19 he was dismissed on compassionate grounds, to take over the business due to Bill's ill health.

David met Cynthia (who had secretly admired David on his rounds through Ashburton!) and went on to have three children - Martin, Michelle & Steven - all of which took a great interest in the business, with Steve and Martin ultimately becoming co-owners in 1984.

1978 - Martin joined the business full time
1984 - Steve joined the business full time
1998 - Steve married Tracy who is now an integral part of the business, working at Totnes every Friday and completing office/admin work on a daily basis.

2005 - Andy joined the team - he has now been with us for almost 20 years - he was highly regarded by David himself
2006 - David's grandson Lee (Michelle's son) joined full time - Lee is now the 5th generation of the family business and continues to drive David's passion for the business.

2022 - After 44 years in the business, Martin took his well earned retirement.
2024 - Jason joined the team - he has been in the industry over 50 years and always brings a smile to work.
